Setting Up the System
The entire Tattletale alarm system set up guide is only five
pages in length! Basic set up steps include: activating the central
monitoring, plugging in the base unit, positioning any optional remote
sensors, creating a 4-digit master passcode and testing the alarm.
The system provides for one 4-digit master passcode and up to six
4-digit user codes (for family members or employees). Only the master user can
add or delete codes. Specific user activity is captured and can be retrieved if necessary.*
Central Monitoring
To activate, simply fax the authorization form that comes with the base unit. A convenient credit card charge is available, paid directly to Tattletale (monitoring fees are not
included in the price of the hardware) at the rate of $35 per month for a 1 year term.
This price is all-inclusive because it is not necessary to order or maintain
a cellular phone line. And should you need to temporarily suspend your
coverage, you may "bank" any unused time for use in the future.
For fail safe purposes, Tattletale utilizes a redundant monitoring system design. Two completely separate central monitoring stations operate in tandem to back-up each other.
When an Alarm is Triggered
If unauthorized movement or activity is detected, the base unit
sounds a warning tone; there are 40 seconds in which to disarm the system
before an alarm occurs. The alarm triggers a call to the
central monitoring station via cellular burst (15 times faster than a land
line call). Central monitoring immediately phones the authorities and/or
contact numbers which were provided to them on your faxed authorization form.
Optional Remote Sensors
Tattletale sensors have up to a 2000' range (over 1/3 mile) and are
programmed to work with a specific base unit only. The system allows for 8
zones, with up to two sensors possible per zone. We provide free sensor
programming at time of purchase with a base unit. To see the selection of
optional sensors, click

No Phone Line to Cut
When thieves suspect an alarm system is present, it is not
unusual for them to cut the phone line. Tattletale's cellular design is
superior to conventional alarm systems because there is no phone line
involved. The digital wireless signal also eliminates the chance that a power
surge will cause a false alarm.
Warranty Coverage
There is a 24-month manufacturer's warranty on the base unit and
12-month coverage on remote sensors.
